Great Performance
The Golf R can accelerate 0-to-60 in 4.5 seconds. That speed represents a lot of get-up-and-go, and the "go" portion of the equation is due to the 2.0-liter TSI® turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It generates 315 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque in most models. Choosing the Golf R with a manual transmission drops the torque production down to 280 pound-feet. If you like feeling personally connected to a vehicle, note that the last year to buy a new VW Golf R with the currently available 6-speed manual transmission is 2024.
The Adaptive Chassis Control DCC and electronically controlled shock absorbers automatically react to driving conditions and the road. The VW Golf R also has Driving Profile Selection, which lets you choose from five driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Individual.
The XDS Cross Differential System also supports superior performance. It automatically improves traction by managing the braking system pressure, promoting precise handling.
